This image* (its text is shown below) is a scan of one of the many documents in Mayor McLean's files at the Marion County Historical Society's museum that were made available by museum director Chris Watts to Rev. Bill McAtee for research on his book, Transformed: A White Mississippi Pastor's Journey Into Civil Rights and Beyond, and which are used here by permission.

On Monday morning, August 30, the mayor asked the "Six" ministers group to pull together 15 black leaders for a 9:30 AM planning meeting. These are apparently his notes for that meeting. That afternoon he met with 30 white leaders, and still had to officiate as judge at the 4 PM trial of those of us arrested during the previous Saturday's picketing.
