DARK Act: Senate Roll Call #2, June 30, 2016

The third version of the Senate DARK Act was submitted on June 30, 2016, in an obvious attempt to sink the Vermont GMO labeling law scheduled to go into effect July 1. The Senate was in recess, scheduled to come back on July 5, but somehow managed to hold a vote about whether to proceed to a final vote on the bill WITHOUT DEBATE. This was the result. Note that the previous vote on the DARK Act on March 16 was a cloture vote, which failed 48-49.

A lot of Senators obviously switched sides. With the exception of Bernie Sanders (who was campaigning and hadn't voted the previous time, but whose sentiments are obvious), all the changes were to pro-GMO positions, from either non-pro-GMO or non-voting, and are shown in bold red below.
